Ruth has developed a specialized blend of techniques to help heal chronic and acute pain issues and to maintain health and wellness in her clients. She blends deep tissue and relaxation techniques with a strong anatomical awareness of strength imbalances as well as areas of tightness or restriction.
She works with athletes (endurance, collegiate, and professional athletes) and clients recovering from injury, surgery, and illness, such as cancer, fibromyalgia, autoimmune issues, repetitive stress injuries, plantar fasciitis and more.
She emphasizes self care in her private practice and group yoga classes. Class offerings include instruction on foundational poses, foam rolling and self massage, joint stability work, and restorative postures.
A native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Ruth received a B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a M.A. from UNC-CH before attending the Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, NC, and the Dr. Vodder School lymphedema and lymphatic massage.
